Summer Season
夏季单元
This project aims at exploring fiction and non-fiction as creative strategies deployed in contemporary art, film, theatre, and the wider cultural context. It is an investigation of how these strategies are utilized by artists, accepted by their audience and thus, affect people’s understanding of the texts as well as the world.
The project will involve a series of relevant research, screenings, dialogues, and workshops in the upcoming three months. Through the analysis and discussion of specific works, we will try to probe the conceptual tension, while anchoring the boundary, between fiction and non-fiction.
The project will include the following five sub-projects:
-
Non-Fictional Archives, Fictional Works
-
Re-enactment: A Performance Strategy Based on Non-Fiction
-
The Myth of Collective Narratives: Mythology and Fiction Narratology
-
Producing Fantasy, Dreams, and Desires: Image / Narrative / (Non-) Fiction
-
Documentary: The Original Sin of a Non-Fiction Genre?
